In 2015, a study by MENTOR found that youth at-risk for falling off track are 55% more likely to enroll in college and 78% more likely to volunteer in their communities when they have a mentoring relationship.
The importance of mentorship cannot be overstated: Mentors help young people navigate the world. Career mentorship is especially valuable, as it can help young people acquire the everyday soft skills they need to navigate the job-seeking process, and ultimately to be successful in the workplace.
This past year we launched our first mentorship pilot, where we matched 1,000 underserved young adults with LinkedIn members for 1:1 coaching conversations.
Our ultimate goal is to connect every underserved young adult with a career mentor by leveraging our 450M+ LinkedIn members.
The second iteration of our mentorship program is coming soon. In the meantime, visit mentor.linkedin.com for opportunities in your area to mentor.
